The Research Community
As a L@S GANAS scholar, you will:
- participate in a research colloquium during your first semester in the Research Experience program
- work collaboratively with faculty members on research projects
- participate in national research conferences and departmental seminars in the life sciences
Through your research experiences and engagement with partnering cultural centers, you will:
- develop self-confidence in your scientific and cultural identities
- embrace diverse aspects of your identities that are often framed as contradictory
- recognize that you do not need to leave your cultural identity at the lab’s door to be successful scientists
- See your cultural identity as a strength
