Each essay has a page limit of 1-2 pages double-spaced per essay MAX:
Personal Statement (1-2 page limit)
Please tell us why you want to participate in the L@S GANAS research experience. How does this experience fit into your career goals? What previous experiences influence your decision to apply? Have you conducted research before?
Research Statement (1-2 page limit)
Please tell us what your ideal research field or interest is and why. Please identify 3 UIC faculty members who fit into your research agenda and explain why you selected them. This does not mean if you are selected for the program you will work with any of these individuals.
NOTE: By identifying three UIC faculty members, you are NOT asking them to work on their projects. You are doing online research and picking three that look like faculty you would want to work for. You can do a web search, read through department faculty biographies, or use the UIC Undergraduate Research Experience portal to identify three faculty members.
You will also need a copy of your transcripts (UIC and any other schools you have attended). Unofficial transcripts are accepted.
